            Abstract :
Describes a novel sensor family for monitoring of human respiration. The principle element is given by (robust and cheap) amorphous ferromagnetic ribbons which can be utilized either by the magneto-mechanical response of a single element or by the magnetic coupling between two elements. Based on these principles, we developed three types of respiration sensors: (i) a thorax belt sensor, (ii) an adhesive skin sensor, and (iii) a spirometer tube sensor
