Abstract :
This paper describes how to improve the parameter S11 for a broadband fractal one-stage ring elliptical dipole modifying the dimensions of such antenna. In that sense, after adjusting the size of inner elliptical slot through an FDTD algorithm, we built the antenna with the best return loss and improvements with respect to the solid elliptical ring dipole antenna are achieved. Good agreement was observed between experimental and simulated results. The standing wave ratio that was obtained is less than 2 (VSWR <;2) along 100 % for 350-800 MHz. Consequently, the antenna could be useful for broadband applications and specifically for HDTV.
