Abstract :
Techniques for boresight gain enhancement of an UWB planar monopole antenna is presented. The squinting effect of the radiation pattern in the broadside direction at high frequencies is alleviated through the introduction of a gate-like structure in the ground plane. The boresight gain is further improved by adding a parasitic element above the main patch.
