Abstract
A new image fusion algorithm is proposed by using the nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) and a lαβ color space to the multispectral image and the panchromatic image. The lαβ color space is a new color space that simulates the visual perception of human. NSCT is used to decompose an image into a low frequency image and several high frequency images, and the regional energy is employed to extract features from the high resolution image. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can obtain the better visual fusion image which has more rich details.
