Abstract :
An animators-oriented method for motion editing is presented in this paper. Animators could make full use of pre-captured motion clips to create a brand-new one so that it meets the needs of animation creation. Our approach enables animators to specify the blending area and reference point of space-time transform. At the same time, we design an improved matching algorithm to assist animator to quickly find the best matching frames. Moreover, after the animators select the reference point, the second motion could have automatically space-time transform, and our algorithm also would create the new transition frames between the two match frames to achieve a new smooth motion. Experimental results illustrates that this method can help animators exert their art specialty and break away from the complicated manipulations.
