Abstract :
For the channel reciprocity property, Eigen-based Beamforming (EBB) has been attracting more and more attentions in LTE-Advanced system. In this paper, single user beamforming with rank adaptation and multi-user beamforming using block diagonal algorithm are studied to make full use of the spatial multiplexing gain. In addition, power control and power allocation are discussed to improve the performance. At last, a novel smart power allocation and power control scheme had been proposed for multi-user beamforming usage. The simulation results showed that the proposed schemes have got significant gain over traditional methods. All the results are provided using dynamic system level simulator based on LTE-Advanced.
