Abstract
The behavior of a least mean square (LMS) adaptive correlator operating on a fading multipath channel is studied. The channel is modeled as a time-varying tapped delay line transversal filter. The adaptive correlator is seen to be effective for slowly varying channels. Its performance degrades in fast fading channels
