  • Abstract
In this article we present a two-staged policy to extend CDMA capacity, which can reduce the engineering complexity and reach optimum after two stages. In the first stage we place the new base stations at separate points of the cells and complete a cell splitting by the ratio of l:2, which is non-optimal (non-cellular) and extend the total capacity of this area by 1.6-1.8 times. In the second stage, we place the new base stations at the rest of the points of the original cells and complete a cell splitting by the ratio of 1:3 together with the first stage. Through these two stages, optimal cell splitting can be reached and total capacity is tripled
