Abstract :
A two-threshold reactive congestion control for a network termination (NT) of B-ISDN is investigated. The NT classifies the arriving traffic into two types of real time and non-real time and provides two distinct finite buffers to accommodate each type of traffic. The two-threshold congestion control strategy will reduce the packet arrival fate as the queue length exceeds a high threshold and will continue until the queue length drops below a low threshold for each type of traffic.<>
