Abstract :
In order to support the interconnection of distant LANs (Local Area Networks) via B-ISDN, we present main issues posed by interworking and suggest efficient methods for resolving these issues. This paper also describes the functions and organization of the high speed B-LTA (Broadband-LAN Terminal Adaptor) which can interconnect existing Ethernet or FDDI LAN. Our proposed B-LTA system is a simple router which supports direct and indirect LAN interconnection method. The simple router uses only network address of LAN for address filtering, address resolution and connection establishment function.<>
