Study on multi-item spare parts ordering policies under certain demand

The characteristic of spare parts inventory was pointed out, and the usage of multi-item joint ordering policy in the spare parts inventory was advanced. Based on analysis of three policies (independent ordering policy, unanimous ordering policy and joint ordering policy), a new method was proposed to get the ordering frequency of different kinds of spare parts in multi-item inventory. The results of research show that aggregating effect of joint ordering policy was optimal to independent ordering policy and unanimous ordering policy.
