Abstract :
This paper reports current research that seeks to develop a practical methodology for monitoring and modelling environmental change in western China using multi-resolution remotely sensed data available for the study area. The purpose of this research is to assess the human impact on the fragile ecosystem of an arid environment by monitoring and modelling landuse and land cover change during 40-50 years
