Abstract :
Plans for an experiment to test the relationship between near-nadiral multi-frequency brightness temperatures and rough surface spectra are described. The underlying small-slope theory of emission from a rough surface is reviewed, and modeling results are presented to suggest an experimental configuration to be used. The validity of predictions of the second order small slope theory is also investigated through comparison with higher order computations.
