Abstract :
A radiated emission is caused by unwanted antenna currents, often denoted as common mode currents. These currents are created by a noise voltage in the reference of a system. Test setup for measuring this noise voltage has been presented in this paper. The conditions for using the set-up are described and validation results are shown. The noise voltage measured in various printed circuit boards with ground planes with various widths, slits or grids is presented. The net partial inductance of these ground planes has been deduced from the measured noise voltage.
