  • Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. Healthcare facilities contain a complex mix of inter-related building services and present some important challenges where medical technology is used. Operating theatres, imaging and diagnostic treatment areas are being supported by resilient electrical supply systems and these must maintain a Safe patient environment. Other related issues including external interference, high magnetic fields, communication systems, etc., can also demand special attention which justifies the healthcare environment as a "Special Location".
