Abstract :
A design approach to linear phase 3-D QMF recursive digital filter banks has been proposed. The design is based on a transfer function which adopts the Bessel function of the S domain as its original lowpass filter. By bilinear transformation of the 1-D S domain to the 3-D Z domain to the function, a linear phase 3-D recursive digital filter can be realized. The realized 3-D IIR filters not only keep the advantages of the linear phase characteristics in the pass band and approximately linear phase characteristics in the stop band, but also compress the transition band and increase the attenuation of the stopband. The 3-D QMF IIR digital filters can be realized by lower order ones to accomplish real-time image separation and reconstruction.<>
