Abstract :
A narrow beamwidth antenna at 2.45 GHz is proposed. It contains a 2 × 4 ground surrounded antenna (GSA) array and a substrate as superstrate. Our GSA provides better bandwidth performance than traditional patch antenna. Design concept of GSA will be described in this paper. The bandwidth and gain of the proposed antenna array are 8.6% (VSWR <; 2) and 12.2 dBi, and the half power beamwidth (HPBW) at two orthogonal planes are 26 ° and 52 °, respectively.
