Abstract :
A computer model for the evolution of the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) spectrum of the erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) is presented. In particular, the temperature dependence of the ASE at the important wavelengths of 1.535 /spl mu/m and 1.552 /spl mu/m are evaluated. The results are then compared with the experimental ones to verify the validity of the theoretical ASE model.<>
