Abstract :
In recent years the study of marine environment by means of remote sensing has gained more and more attention. In particular, the high-resolution all-weather day-and-night synthetic aperture radar technique has demonstrated its capability to monitor marine scenes. Within such a framework a SAR simulator is advisable for a better comprehension of such a complex environment. This paper illustrates a SAR raw signal simulator conceived according to the distributed surface model and a three-scale scattering model and presents some new examples comparing actual SAR images with simulated ones
