Abstract
A series of mixers intended for space borne remote sensing applications have been developed. Subharmonic mixers operating in the millimetre and submillimetre wave region make use of planar flip chip antiparallel Schottky diode pairs and are driven via solid state local oscillator sources. For the terahertz region, single ended fundamental mixers incorporating novel micromachined stripline circuitry have been developed and achieve record sensitivities at 2.5 THz. This talk will describe the design of the mixers and discuss the most recent RF results.
