Abstract :
In this paper, the performance of the effective dielectric model for perfect electric conducting (PEC) objects is studied by using the method of moments solution for volume integral equation. In this approach, the PEC objects are represented as dielectric material objects with very large imaginary part of permittivity. The numerical results indicate that the effective dielectric model is a reasonable method to describe PEC objects. The accuracy of the effective model is improved when the imaginary part of permittivity increases for electrically small objects. While for electrically large objects, there is no obvious dependence on the imaginary part of permittivity.
