Abstract
Sustainable development is one of the fastest growing influences in the design and construction industry today. It is changing how designers perceive building materials and the kind of information they require to make these decisions. This paper discusses what it is, why it is happening, how fast it is occurring and how both the cement and concrete industry provides sustainable benefits.
