  • Abstract
We derive an optimal receiver for the forward link of a CDMA mobile radio system subject to slowly varying Rayleigh fading. The proposed optimal detector does not require the transmission of a pilot tone and exploits fading memory and Kalman filtering for channel estimation. The receiver exhibits a good performance especially for low signal-to-noise ratio which is the typical operating conditions of CDMA systems
