Abstract :
We propose a spot-cell service model for a new architecture for multimedia mobile communication systems. Currently, wideband communication systems, such as the Multimedia Mobile Access Communication system (MMAC) being proposed in Japan. The main target is the handling of large data files such as still images, video streams and Web pages. `Information Kiosks” located at various train stations in Japan are an example of the implementation of a download system of this type. In implementing a download service utilizing small-cell systems, it is necessary to pay particular attention to the scalability of the number of users count and service availability. The model described in this paper uses a two-dimensional Markov chain model, which takes into account the user´s mobility factor. From analysis and simulation based on this model, the most efficient probability of packet (re)transmission is estimated for the model combined PCS (PHS service in Japan) as uplink channel
