Unified the formidable signal processing function of microprocessor and the wireless communication technology based on ZigBee, this paper proposed one kind of short-distance wireless voice communication solution based on ZigBee which takes the low power MCU as core control unit, auxiliary by the wireless radio frequency transceiver as well as the audio codec. The character of voice signal is that the data is orderly, real-time and the data volume is big. In view of these characters, we have adopted the following processing method to the voice signal: in the transmission end, must realize the A/D conversion, compression and sequencing at first, and operate the storage, packing (conforms to the ZigBee protocol), then transmit the data in the network through the RF modulation and the ZigBee route finally; In the receiving end, have to carry on the demodulation, unpacking and storage firstly, and then finish the sequencing and decompression, the output will be sent to the D/A conversion and filter circuit in order to get the original analog voice signal. In addition, we designed the hand-held terminal of short distance wireless voice communication system based on ZigBee. The test results of the hand-held terminal prototype indicated that: this technology can realize the transmission of voice signal in ZigBee network just-in-time and one to multi-spot broadcast and point-to-point call, which is one kind of short-distance colony voice communication method to be flexible network automatic disposition, low power loss, sm- ll scope and low cost.
