  • Abstract
A novel adaptive algorithm for MMSE multiuser detection in downlink CDMA is proposed. This algorithm uses the information in pilot channel to compute the desired MMSE solution. Computation for the solution consists of two steps: (a) computing the solution for the user in pilot channel, (b) then computing directly the desired solution using the results in (a). Hence, compared to other previously proposed algorithms, this algorithm does not require training sequences or channel estimation. Moreover, it is proved in this paper that the MMSE detector using the algorithm can converge to the Wiener solution globally. Computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is O(N2)
