Abstract
The electric field calculation possesses important position in studying on dielectric and opening properties of vacuum interrupter. In this paper, the analysis of the three dimensional electrical field of a vacuum interrupter by the boundary element method (BEM) has been proceeded, the singular integral which is the fatal problem in BEM has been solved by degenerating element technique and special integral method. The 8 nodes quadratic element has been adopted for discretizing the boundary elements. The calculation results for 40.5 kV vacuum interrupter show that the method provided by this paper is feasible for analyzing the electric field and insulation property of vacuum interrupter.
