Abstract
The results of a theoretical investigation using the first approximation of the Rytov smooth perturbation method, and of an experimental analysis of the fluctuations of a millimeter wave (MMW) beam (λ=8.3 mm) reflected by an unmovable object located at the distance of L=17 km, are presented. The authors carry out an analysis of the MMW parameters under various meteorological conditions and wave parameter values, taking into account the different height-dependent propagation medium characteristics. They also estimate the random amplitude modulation depth
