Abstract
Within the research efforts toward new generation of in-door communcation systems, utilization of frequencies in higher microwave and lower MM-wave bands may play an important role in future. One of the barriers for fast market introduction are also convenient inherently low cost RE Front ends which have to be realized in planar technology, moreover with integrated antennas. In this paper, solutions for up/down converters with integrated antennas in 24 GHz (ISM band) to 5 GHz (Non Licensed / HIPERLAN Band) are presented. The results may also trace work on the future 60 GHz systems. Two solutions with sector and high gain antenna are successfufly implemented and described in more details. Measured results have proved the proposed concept.
