Abstract :
This paper studies the bilayer codes for anytime reliable transmission over three terminal relay networks. We propose an anytime code structure and provide a theoretical analysis of bilayer anytime transmission when uncoded relaying takes place over the relay-destination channel. Through asymptotic analysis, we show the anytime characteristics of the proposed relaying scheme. We find the theoretical delay exponent through the mathematical induction technique and compare it with the delay exponent obtained from numerical results. Through simulation results, we also show the finite-length performance of the proposed bilayer anytime code.
