Recent topics of high field phenomena in insulating polymers

As the first Liu Ziyu Memorial Lecture, this invited talk will review the recent topics to be notified in the high-field electric phenomena of insulating polymers: i) electrical properties related to the chemical structure and the morphology of polymers; ii) recent development of evaluating techniques of the space charges and their application to clarify the high-field phenomena, iii) development of ac voltage withstand test on site applicable to the large capacity high voltage polymer insulating system. Finally, the important problems to be solved will be reviewed for future modern insulating technology
