Abstract :
Due to the high demand on the bandwidth, energy and packet loss rate, the reliability of video transmission is a big challenge of Wireless Video Sensor Networks (WVSN). Based on the status of every path in the network and the broadcast nature of wireless sensor networks, we propose a self-adaptive reliable transmission algorithm for Wireless Video Sensor Networks in this paper. The algorithm generally includes the following two main parts: Self-adaptive Multi-path Throughput Allocation mechanism (SMTA) and Signal-path Congestion Avoidance Mechanism (SCAM). The simulation result shows that the algorithm this paper proposes not only improves the reliability of transmission significantly, but also prolongs the network lifetime.
