Abstract
The KAON factory central control system study employed a uniform approach to requirements analysis and architectural design. The methodology was based on well-established object-oriented principles and was free of the problems inherent in the older methodologies. The methodology is being used to implement two systems at the Tri-University Meson Facility (TRIUMF).<>
