Abstract :
We propose a new way to implement bandpass filters in microstrip technology. It consists on using two 1-D Photonic Bandgap (PBG) reflector structures (stopband filters) in cascade, tuned at different frequencies. In this way a bandpass with low attenuation is opened between the two rejected frequency bands. Optimiations of the 1-D PBG microstrip structure have been performed (tapering, compact arrangement) to obtain higher performance.
