Abstract
A comparative analysis of the wavelength temperature stability of high power quantum well and quantum dot lasers is reported in this study. The device characteristics are measured on broad area lasers cleaved to different cavity lengths. Observed wavelength stability is explained by the gain curve differences between quantum well and quantum dot material dependent on temperature and drive current.
