Abstract :
In this paper, CFAR detection of non-Gaussian targets from multi-look SAR (synthetic aperture radar) images that are characterized by K-distributed clutter is studied. Expressions of the PDF for target-plus-clutter, detection probability (Pd) and false alarm probability (Pfa) in both CA (cell averaging) and OS (order statistic) CFAR detectors are represented. Two methods for numerical computation in CFAR detection are described when dealing with problems of the CA detector. The performance is examined, detectability loss due to the `spikiness´ of the clutter is shown for both CA and OS detectors, and for both single-look and multi-look mode
