Abstract :
This paper formulated and extended Mie theory to spherical particles with negative permeabilities or negative coatings. The analytic solution was validated by comparison with the numerical solution obtained using the commercial full-wave simulation tool HFSS. The results presented here are expected to help understand the interesting and recently studied phenomenon of magneto-static resonance.
