Abstract :
We propose two extended reservation-based multiple access with variable frame length (RMAV) protocols in order to adapt to traffic pattern flexibly. At first, we propose the RMAV in which the frame length can increase in the next frame by as many as slots the terminal needs, while in conventional RMAV the frame length increases one slot in the next frame. It is shown that the proposed model can attain lower value of mean message delay and a more rapid convergence speed than the conventional RMAV. Next, we propose the protocol with the function that supports prioritized traffic by using the variable maximum of the slots that the terminal can reserve in one frame for the terminal of each class. It is shown that the performance of the higher priority class can attain better performance compared to the lower priority class
