Abstract :
Adjustable speed drive (ASD) is becoming a significant load component for power distribution. It involves the use of an Induction motor (IM). This paper involves modeling and control of an Induction motor and investigates its effects on the total current harmonic distortion of the adjustable speed ac drives. The simulation was carried out with the aid of the Simulink toolbox available in Matlab.
