Summary form only given, as follows. There has been a major focus in recent years on Java as a language for developers to build applets that operate on the WEB. Java is a fully object-oriented language that can be used to develop mainstream applications. This tutorial will concentrate on using Java to build reliable distributed applications for use on either intranet or internets.
