Abstract
In the field of satellite communications, Compensated Compact Ranges represent the standard in high precision antenna measurements within a large firequency range. A test facility of this type was installed at the Fachhochschule Mÿnchen 3 years ago. Since this time, performance tests with specific test antennas and a polar plane wave scanner as well as developments and investigations for a further improvement of the measurement accuracy were performed. Within this paper, the achieved performance characteristics and the actually developed hardware solutions as a high resolution hardgating system and a SERAP structure for suppression of distorting fields will be described and analyzed. The quality of the quiet zone field will be verified with results of radiation pattern measurements and plane wave probing data in several frequency bands.
