Abstract :
All-optical 3R regenerators and regenerative all-optical wavelength converters are envisioned performing transmission over ultra-long haul distances and to overcome wavelength blocking in TDM networks. We review a 3R regenerator and an all-optical wavelength converter that demonstrated 40 Gb/s transmission over one million km of fiber.
