Abstract
A harmonic analysis method for an electric arc furnace in the frequency domain is presented. Based on a dynamic arc model in terms of a differential equation, the problem is formulated as a series of nonlinear equations in a finite harmonic space with a special conversion. With a Newton-Raphson algorithm, the nonlinear problem can be solved in a rather simple way. The method is applied to a single-phase test system including an arc furnace load
