Abstract :
Trellis dirty paper watermarking is an implement of watermarking with side information, which has very good performances. But the structure issue remains unclear, and how to choose a proper structure and reference pattern in terms of all the performance indexes is still a problem. In this paper, the performance indexes of the trellis dirty paper watermarking and its factors that affect the performances are introduced, and the effect of trellis structure and reference pattern on fidelity, robustness and complexity are tested and analyzed. Experimental results provide a better understanding of the trellis dirty paper watermarking, it shows that different trellis structure and reference pattern have great effect on the performances, but in most situations, the 64 times 64 trellis can get a better tradeoff among fidelity, robustness and complexity. Besides, choosing the reference pattern which has the more similar distribution with the cover work can get a lower bit error ratio.
