Abstract :
In this paper, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is performed on HRIRs grouped according to azimuth and covariance to improve distortion performance while reducing storage requirement. By further combining Balanced Model Truncation (BMT) using a joint optimization scheme, a virtual 3D sound synthesis scheme with low computation complexity, little storage requirement and efficient linear interpolation is proposed. A smaller model distortion is achieved as high PCA model error of contralateral HRIR is decreased by grouping PCA strategy.
