Abstract :
Game theory is one of the primary theoretical tools in studying a system that contains several interest parties. By introducing game theory into the study of sports event reputation, we aim to regulate the rule making process to guarantee the reputation of sports events. First a game model is formulated to incorporate the various factors that influence sports event reputation. Further analysis reveals whether parties involved choose to obey or violate game rules depends largely on how much they can profit from the chosen behavior. We believe that if due consideration is given to the cost effect relation in shaping competition rules, then participants´ impulse to break the rules will be fundamentally reduced, hence ensure sports event reputation.
