Abstract :
In this paper, a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with dual polarization is investigated. Compared to traditional metallic micro-strip antennas, the DRA is a option for active antenna base station systems. DRA is considered to be applied for both Tx (downlink) and Rx (uplink) bands. With cross micro-strip slots coupling feeding, polarization diversity can be readily achieved. The isolation between cross polarized ports is about 32 dB. The measured gains of the two ports are about 5.5 dBi.
