Abstract :
This paper presents the mathematical model for a photovoltaic array. It has been developed with the help of Matlab/Simulink software package. Since the PV module has non linear characteristics, it is necessary to model it for the design and simulation of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for PV system applications, and to study the dynamic analysis of converters. This model of photovoltaic array is user-friendly. The developed model is simulated and analyzed in conjunction with power electronics, for a maximum power point tracker. The parameters of the photovoltaic array model are obtained from the information available in the datasheet. The same is also explained in this paper.
