Abstract :
The architecture of a high-speed digital control system is proposed. The design incorporates an NEC μPD77230 advanced signal processor chip as the main processing element and high-speed analog input and output circuitry. An algorithm for implementing a state-space controller representation that optimizes the vector-processing capabilities of the processor is given. The throughput of the control system is compared with that for a similar design using a general-purpose microprocessor
