Abstract :
The linear and nonlinear discrete diffraction of light beams within one-dimensional optically induced modulated photonic lattices (MPL) in bulk photorefractive samples of lithium niobate (LiNbO3) are investigated. The linear transmission of MPL for different directions of light is studied. It is concluded that the discrete diffraction of light within optically induced photorefractive photonic lattices may be strongly modified and even completely suppressed due to their optical modulation.
